An offbeat trio Stained Ash Ichi- H: 15 x W: 6.7cm Ni- H: 12 x W: 8.8 cm San- H: 9 x W: 10.7 cm
One, two, three barmy birds. Ichinisan make for an offbeat trio, sure to put a smile on your face. Crazy and cute, with an exclusive look due to the dark wood and meticulous design.
"When we design, we sometimes narrow down our own playing field, because this often helps us come up with a surprising twist, which we might never have considered otherwise. In this case, we set ourselves the task of using six sticks for each bird. As a result, the tails are made from one, two or three sticks. The number three became the common denominator for the figures", Beaverhausen explains.
Consequently, the height varies by 3 cm between each of the birds, who have been given the names Ichi-Ni-San; meaning one, two, three in Japanese. The group consists of a penguin, a parrot and a robin.
Ichi the penguin is the tallest in the group. He gets his eccentric character from his funky lopsided wings, his slender body and his distinctive eye region.
Then there's Ni the parrot, with his big beak and gawky figure. The exotic bird with the calm appearance is the kind-hearted peacekeeper of the group.
Even shorter than his parrot friend beside him, San the robin is a charismatic little troubadour with a beaky look on his face.
Ichinisan can be placed side by side or stacked on top of one another like a sort of lively totem pole. Their strong individual personalities allow them to sit just as nicely by themselves.
Finally, a good reason to put your phone away. The TAIT Desk Clock is designed to help keep your attention to what really matters. All of the components come from around the country to our studio in Detroit, where they’re assembled by hand one at a time. Perfect for your desk, nightstand, bookshelf or living room, the Desk Clock is available in five colors and is a beautiful answer to anyone wondering what time it is. 100% USA-Made.
Created for coziness Size: 2.5" x 3.1" Material: Cast Iron
According to Nordic mythology Heima means ‘home’ or ‘the world’, but Heima is also the name of a series of cast iron candlesticks designed by Francis Cayouette. Normann Copenhagen presents four candlesticks and a practical plate.
The Nordic tradition of using candlelight is the essence behind Heima, which won the prestigious design prize IF Product Design Award 2010. Heima candlesticks are available for tea light candles, square candles for simple household candles and as four-armed candlesticks.
Inspired by the Nordic culture of using candlelight and the cast iron arts and crafts of the 1950s, Francis Cayouette has created candlesticks that feature a recognisable design and pay tribute to industrial craftsmanship and to the Nordic traditions. The uneven, almost cold surface gives the Heima candlestick character, while the rounded shapes make the design modern.
Francis Cayouette says: “The concept of ‘cosiness’ varies from person to person. For me the Nordic tradition of using candlelight is synonymous with cosiness. Arts and crafts must have a recognisability and a history and cast iron is an exciting raw material with history. It was natural to extend the Heima series and create different candlesticks for different types of candles”.
Heima has been created for company and cosy atmospheres. The minimalist candlesticks are sculptural and make an elegant and stylish accompaniment to both modern and classic decors.
